This form is used to amend a full-year New York State resident's income tax return for
the specific tax year noted on the form. It is used by filers who need to
correct errors or omissions on their original returns, or when they have to
report changes made by the IRS to their federal returns. To properly complete Form IT-201-X, you
need its instructions (IT-201-X-I), and the instructions for Form IT-201 for that tax year
(also containing instructions for Forms IT-201-ATT, which may be required).
