Basic STAR recipients
- If you were a Basic STAR recipient who applied for the 2007 rebate, you didn't have to reapply as long as your property information remained the same.
- If you didn't apply for 2007, or if your property information changed during the year, you needed to apply for the 2008 program by December 31, 2008.
- If you're a property owner and your income is more than $250,000, you were not eligible for a rebate check, even if you had a basic STAR exemption.
Enhanced STAR recipients
- If you're an Enhanced STAR recipient, generally seniors, you should have automatically received your check. You didn't have to apply. Enhanced rebate amounts are about 40% higher than last year.
